WhitePagesPRO Enhances Proprietary Phone Number Intelligence

WhitePages PRO announced it has enhanced its proprietary Phone (News - Alert) Number Intelligence to include an expanded set of data, specifically to help merchants verify identities to predict and prevent fraud.

A division of WhitePages Inc., WhitePages PRO leverages its proprietary Phone Number Intelligence by tapping into WhitePages.com’s database of over 300 MM phone numbers, including landline, hard-to-find and mobile numbers.

WhitePages PRO's API and Web Lookup solutions match current name, address, age and household members to over 300 million phone numbers. Now, they’ll tell whether or not an address is vacant and if the associated phone number is pre-paid or originates from a non-fixed voice over Internet protocol (VoIP).

The addition of indicators to detect vacant addresses and pre-paid phone and non-fixed VoIP numbers simply signifies a few ways that the company is 100 percent focused on advancing its Phone Number Intelligence to offer the most robust and reliable resource for merchants to predict and prevent fraud, according to Alex Algard, CEO at WhitePages.

The latest enhancements will enable WhitePages PRO to provide merchants with access to the industry's most comprehensive and accurate set of data, enabling them to detect fraudulent activity for card-not-present transactions.

“By providing access to the industry's most comprehensive set of consumer contact data, we aim to help merchants accurately detect fraudulent activities associated with card-not-present transactions,” Algard said.

WhitePages PRO helps businesses identify new and existing customers improve efficiencies, verify identities to predict and prevent fraud and improve contact data to enhance customer interactions.

When a card-not-present transaction is submitted, WhitePages PRO’s API and Web Lookup solutions automatically match current name, phone number and address information, or any combination.

Company officials said the service now provides easy access to data that is very commonly associated with fraudulent activity, which is a matter of serious concern for merchants.

The company’s unique data set combined with PRO’s easy access also helps merchants improve efficiencies to streamline the manual review process.

WhitePages PRO recently said it will now indicate whether an address is vacant and if the associated phone number is pre-paid or originates from a non-fixed VoIP.
