It took a security audit to make Austrian Post AG, a provider of mail shipping services in Austria, sit up and take note of how vulnerable it was to security breaches and it acted immediately to secure its defenses by selecting ForeScout CounterACT to protect its network.
An automated security control platform, ForeScout CounterACT, recognized by Frost & Sullivan (News - Alert) as the largest independent NAC vendor, protects networks from cybercriminals, according to company officials.
“We appreciate progressive companies, such as Austrian Post AG, leveraging our automated security control platform in order to better manage risks and lower operating costs,” said Gord Boyce, CEO at ForeScout, in a press release.
Keeping in mind the need for infrastructure resiliency, security and privacy compliance, Austrian Post chose ForeScout CounterACT as it compared favorably with other similar solutions in terms of functionality, usability, price and scalability.
Other points in its favor was the ability of the security platform to support real time device detection warn against suspicious network behavior without using agents, and ability to remediate endpoint security violations when they occur.
“CounterACT offers complete transparency of all devices on the network, policy enforcement, and improved protection against possible hacking,” said Michael Zatl, network manager at Post AG, in a statement.
Zatl commented on the ease of management and implementation and noted that the company was able to make use of the complete functionality of the platform within one week.
Since deploying CounterACT, Austrian Post reported increased efficiency, reduced costs, saving of time and increased IT agility.
In other news, ForeScout Technologies recently introduced ForeScout Mobile, a set of plug-in modules to enable rich Android (News - Alert) and iOS security management, as well as a plug-in module for Mobile Device Management (MDM) integration.
By combining ForeScout Mobile with ForeScout CounterACT, the company’s Network Access Control (NAC) platform, security professionals can employ one console to gain unprecedented visibility and uniform control over managed and unmanaged mobile and PC devices.
