Apica recently unveiled its AMI for Apica ProxySniffer, which provides mega load testing capabilities to Amazon Web Services users.
Apica ProxySniffer is a tool that allows the recording of load test scenarios through pre-surfing with any Web browser. This includes Firefox, Safari or Internet Explorer, with the help of a universally useable HTTP(S) proxy-recorder.
The recording also consists of AJAX calls. Requests from pop-up Windows, XML and SOAP messages of Web service client applications can also be recorded.
Apica ProxySniffer AMI provides Amazon customers the facility to immediately rent, on an hourly basis using their AWS credentials, extra load generators for 2,000, 5,000 or 10,000 simultaneous virtual users by making use of the Amazon’s Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2).
With its ability to be up and running within minutes from the Apica ProxySniffer GUI, The Apica ProxySniffer EC2 AMI is instantly available, and does not require users to have a minimum subscription.
Hourly expenses are billed to existing AWS accounts, the company stated in a press release.
“Apica ProxySniffer gives our customers the ability to create and set up their own load tests according to their individual needs,” said Sven Hammar, CEO at Apica. “Our global test platform allows for comprehensive performance management and capacity planning. Pairing those capabilities with the elasticity and scalability of the AWS Cloud will generate test volumes capable of validating scaling and failover for the most demanding cloud applications and SaaS providers.”
Recently, Apica announced its Web and application performance monitoring tools, Apica LoadTest, Apica WebOverload and Apica Watch, are now available in the new Amazon Web Services (AWS) Marketplace. Apica LoadTest helps users control the Web load and records the effects on Web applications and page load times, allowing users to analyze and learn from the experience of bringing a website down.
