Ecrio, one of the key suppliers of 4G-LTE (News - Alert) client software for the mobile businesses, recently announced that it had delivered its interoperability testing suite for the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) Services to NTT DoCoMo (News - Alert) Incorporated.
The kit consisted of a Test Server that supported Voice Over LTE (VoLTE), SMS and RCS. It also contained Test Tools for debugging and analyzing SIP / IMS protocols, media routers and signaling packets. Ecrio's (News - Alert) FlexIMS based Mobile Client was also a part of the package. This helps ISPs, chipset vendors and handset makers during the testing period (Interoperability Development Testing or IODT phase) to optimize their multimedia networks and client applications. It would also help them identify performance hot spots and assist in the development of VoLTE, SMS and RCS services.
Ecrio leads the way in supplying real- time communications client software for standards compliant SMS, RCS, VoLTE and Video Calling services running on 4G LTE Networks and has over 50 million phones deployed globally. It provides optimized, standards compliant software to clients and development resources to mobile phone service providers and device manufacturers for mobile commerce and rea-l time communications.
Built on the FlexIMS architecture, Ecrio's Mobile Communications Client Suite (MCCS) and solutions have been deployed by leading operators such as SK Telecom (News - Alert), NTT DOCOMO and Verizon Wireless in addition to key device and chipset platform providers.
The executive vice president and chief technical officer of NTT DoCoMo, Mitsunobu Komori, said that with Ecrio's experience in deploying millions of IMS enabled handsets globally, NTT DoCoMo would be happy to extend its technology to support advanced LTE communication services.
The chief executive officer of Ecrio, Michel Gannage, said that they were extremely proud to be selected by NTT DoCoMo, a global pioneer in emerging telecom technologies and services. He added that they looked forward to supporting NTT DoCoMo and their vendor ecosystem with their versatile IMS/ VoLTE Test Kit that speeds up the development and testing of next generation LTE services. Gannage also mentioned that having enabled over 40 millions SIP/IMS-powered phones for customers such as NTT DoCoMo, they knew how difficult it was to adapt applications for rich IP communications across multiple handsets, operating systems and networks
The chairman of Ecrio, Nagesh Challa said that they were challenged to work across multiple operating systems and phones and that Ecrio's solutions have shipped on more than 40 different DoCoMo models. This landmark of 30-plus million phones and NTT DoCoMo's 2007 investment in Ecrio speak volumes about the strength of their relationship.
