ICAP Patent Brokerage recently announced the sale of four U.S. granted patents and one application relating to wireless video-telephony.

Dean Becker, CEO at ICAP Patent Brokerage and ICAP Ocean Tomo Auctions, said that with the increasing popularity of video-telephone applications, this IP package would be an important addition to telecommunications IP portfolios.

The intellectual property brokerage and patent auction firm intends to sell the patent to the party that provides the highest offer on or before October 31st, subject to trustee and bankruptcy court approval.

According to officials of the firm, the IP package describes a personal videophone communication apparatus, system and method that provide high resolution compressed video and audio signals which may be transmitted via any communication network.

The technological environment is rapidly evolving and company officials claim that this video-telephone is one of the easiest on the market to understand and use.

The device features elements that are common to other video-telephones such as a camera, LCD screen, speaker, keypad and handset. The disclosed invention, however, comes with an ergonomic design, which is easily adjustable and it may be used in multiple ambient light conditions.

Additionally, one embodiment provides for a portable unit that is wireless and automatically monitors the quality of the transmission path, according to company officials. In addition, the cordless system is equipped with privacy controls to provide flexibility to those wanting to limit its video features.

Earlier in September, ICAP Patent Brokerage announced that the Fall 2012 Patent Monetization Event and IP Auction is scheduled to be held November 28 and 29 at the Ritz Carlton, San Francisco.
