New Alliance Picks Secured Digital RFID System for Warehouse in China


Secured Digital Applications (News - Alert) has been awarded another contract by New Alliance to install an EyStar warehouse management system for a subsidiary company in Fuzhou, China.

 
China has become the world’s largest market for radio frequency ID (RFID) by value in 2008, according to Patrick Lim, chairman and CEO of Secured Digital. He noted that China has presented excellent opportunities to demonstrate Secured Digital’s RFID enabled applications capabilities in the transportation, security access, manufacturing and supply chain sectors.
 
Valued at $1.76 million, the new contract is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2009. The EyStar system will integrate bar code, RFID and WiFi (News - Alert) data collection to track inventory and assets in the customer’s 700,000 square foot warehouse complex.
 
The EyStar system features easy to use inventory, shipping, receiving and picking capabilities; queries, reporting and bar code labeling; scaleable database application; batched orders management, replenishment and cross docking warning; state-of-the-art RFID/bar code data collection utilizing personal digital assistants (PDAs); and compliance with latest RFID standards and mandates.
 
Secured Digital Applications is a provider of mobile communication, outsourced business and information technology consulting services.
 
According to a new report by from www.CompaniesAndMarkets.com, “Global RFID Market Analysis till 2010,” the global industry for RFID technology has been growing steadily since past few years. The industry is expected to grow rapidly before stabilizing and settling on a steady growth path.
 
The research firm estimates that in future, major growth in the global industry for RFID technology will be seen in countries like the U.S., U.K, Japan, China, and Thailand. It predicts the market will grow at a moderate compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of about 20.7 percent from 2008 to 2016.
