Abaca Virtual E-mail Protection Gateway Validated as a VMware Virtual Appliance

The Abaca Virtual E-mail Protection Gateway VPG 1500 reportedly has become a validated VMware virtual appliance, company officials say.

 
Available for download online, the Abaca Virtual E-mail Protection Gateway VPG 1500 has been rigorously tested for compatibility with both the VMware ESX and ESXi hypervisors. According to Abaca Technology, validation through the VMware Virtual Appliance Program ensures that products are reliable, supported, enterprise-ready, and fully compatible with VMware’s virtualization solutions.
 
Companies seeking to receive the VMware validation must undergo testing which verifies that appliances work with VMware Infrastructure and have all of the necessary documentation to assist new users in either evaluating the virtual appliance or setting it up for production use.
 
Leo Jolicoeur, chief executive officer at Abaca, said that officials from his company worked closely with VMware to ensure that their virtual appliance meets VMware’s standards for virtual appliance quality and scalability. By completing the VMware validation process, Abaca has ensured that the Abaca Virtual E-mail Protection Gateway VPG 1500 fully supports the VMware virtualization platform while delivering best-in-class e-mail security.
 
William Shelton, director of Emerging Products and Solutions at Vmware, said that the VMware Virtual Appliance Program helps software providers such as Abaca to develop flexible, cost-effective solutions that are easy to deploy and can run on any x86-based hardware.
