Panda Internet Security Bundle, Including VoIP, Now Ready for Home Users

By SIP Trunking Report Contributing Editor

SMC Networks reportedly says that the Panda Internet Security bundle is now available for home and small and home office users.

The bundle includes a Wireless N Router and a Wireless N USB 2.0 Adapter from SMC Networks, designed to offer small offices and home users high-speed wireless connectivity to withstand demands of bandwidth-thirsty applications such as large file transfers and multimedia streaming.
The company says that the routers come equipped with a free six-month trial of Panda Internet Security; featuring anti-virus, anti-spyware, desktop firewall, anti-phishing, anti-spam, online backup, PC tune-up and parental control.
SMC Networks provides LAN hardware and broadband connectivity devices. Officials at the company claim to leverage manufacturing resources and strategic relationships to bring to market a growing range of affordable products, including: Gigabit and Fast Ethernet Switching, 10G solutions, Wireless networking, VoIP, Network Attached Storage, VDSL and Broadband connectivity products as well as traditional wired network adapters.
With the advent of high-end technologies and hardware, users are giving more importance to high-speed connectivity on the move. They also expect excellent security in their connectivity, even from a school kid doing his project or a banker transacting sensitive account info.
Thierry Gonon, SMC Networks’ General Manager for the EMEA region, said, “The Internet now serves a larger purpose then ever in business and home life and although it stands as one of the most useful tools to communicate and have access to information, it also presents risks for both the private and business end-user. We’ve teamed up with Panda Security to offer customers running smaller offices and/or PCs in the home the ability to connect safely via our high-speed all-in-one networking routers, in the knowledge that all of their assets are protected.”
The Barricade Draft 11n Wireless 4-port ADSL2/2+ Modem Router and the Draft 11n Wireless 4-port Broadband Router are all-in-one IEEE802.11n draft v2.0 networking solutions, designed for sharing high-speed Internet connections. The company says the choice is left with users to select the products that fit their criteria.
The Barricade bundle can handle transfer rates of up to 300 Mbps which makes simultaneous apps such as high-definition video and audio streaming, large file transfers, online gaming and VoIP calls work well, according to the company.
