Websense Launches Data Security Suite Version 7

Websense (News - Alert), a company developing integrated Web, e-mail and data security solutions, has announced the launch of its Websense Data Security Suite version 7 and the new Websense Data Security Endpoint.

The new software prevents data loss on remote laptops and removable media devices, extending the company's network-based data loss prevention (DLP) capabilities to the endpoint. Also, the Version 7 combines integrated DLP and Web security functionalities in a single Web gateway.

Frost & Sullivan (News - Alert) projects that the data security market will grow to $2.1 billion with a compound annual growth rate of 41.1 percent. Analyst firms have regarded Websense DLP technology a big player in the market, and the company has delivered three major product releases of Websense Data Security Suite and tripled the install base in less than two years.

Websense data security solutions integrate with Web security solutions, to give customers unique visibility and control over where confidential data can be sent.

The Websense Data Security Suite is available together with the new Websense Web Security Gateway (News - Alert) on a single multi-function gateway delivered and supported by Websense, for customers that want to have a single Web gateway control point for their Web and data security.

Users get integrated functionality by deploying the solutions together, and achieve a single Web gateway control point with SSL decryption, granular geographic location visibility, real-time user identification and policy enforcement, and Web destination awareness and control.

Websense Data Security Endpoint enables protection of data in an increasingly mobile workforce, and focusing on the data itself, protects that data regardless of the device or application in use.

Websense provides data protection across an array of communication channels in the industry, such as the Web, instant messaging, peer-2-peer, removable media, print, FTP, CD/DVD burning and more.

Ryan Leonard, director of infrastructure engineering at FXCM, a financial services firm supplying online trading services, commented that the risk of data loss is heightened today because of people's ability to easily post content to a multitude of popular Web 2.0 sites.

Leonard noted that combination of Websense Data Security Suite with the new Websense Web Security Gateway provides FXCM with an integrated solution for full visibility and control over its outbound information, while consolidating its security infrastructure and management with one trusted vendor.
