QRadar Solution Integrates with McAfee Security System

Q1 Labs reportedly has integrated its QRadar network security management offering with McAfee’s ePolicy Orchestrator software.

Officials at Q1 say the integration is part of the McAfee (News - Alert) Security Innovation Alliance partner program.

The job of a security company these days extends far beyond providing virus and spam protection. The customers of today would like to know what’s happening in his enterprise and be in control of it. So, security companies are now integrating end point security with network to provide the customers with the features they ask for.

QRadar provides the ability to monitor user, application, data center, and network-based security information. The company can combine that with McAfee ePO software asset-based system security information, offering the customers with end-to-end visibility. It can also improve network security management with QRadar’s inherent operational efficiencies.

“By implementing leading products that are compatible with McAfee solutions – like Q1 Labs’ QRadar security information and event management offering - our customers experience faster deployment times and reduced costs,” said Joe Gottlieb, vice president of corporate strategy and technology alliances at McAfee. “QRadar intelligently distills large amounts of information from a wide range of sources and makes additional security events visible to McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator database.”

With McAfee ePO software, companies and governments can centrally manage security and compliance products from multiple vendors. McAfee says that this provides considerable cost savings and return on investment. The company provides managed security solutions for more than 60 million PCs and servers and more than 35,000 customers.

Q1 Labs officials say that by combining end point security with network security, customers will get a broader view of what’s happening in their enterprise.

In November, the company made available a free, downloadable, log management and compliance product that provides organizations with visibility across their networks, data centers, and infrastructures. It helps IT professionals collect, analyze, report, and store network, host, server, application, and security event logs, via syslog, from any source, including a wide variety of routers, switches, and security devices.
