New Cymtec Scout v3.0 Introduced

Cymtec Systems has announced the introduction of Cymtec Scout 3.0 which is the latest version of its Intrusion (News - Alert) Detection Solution (IDS).

Cymtec Scout 3.0 ensures effective threat detection by means of a “plug-and-play” Software-as-a-Service (SaaS (News - Alert)) delivery model. The offering does not require special resource dedication for maintaining the solution and allows the cost of protecting network assets to be minimized.

The latest version of Cymtec Scout includes better functionality and advanced threat detection capabilities. This is made possible thanks to the company's partnership with enterprise threat management company, Sourcefire, has helped them to integrate the latter’s Vulnerability Research Team (VRT) threat data into the offering - enhancing its threat detection capabilities.

The VRT threat analysis and reporting capabilities offer customers an optimum detection and threat management solution. This data security by VRT can be analyzed with Cymtec Scout’s new portal, which gives better threat visibility and ensures a faster interface to access critical data quickly.

The advanced threat detection intelligence provided by Cymtec Scout also offers access to security information which helps protect network assets before threats become realities and affect business operations. The reporting process on network security issues is also simplified enabling easy compliance with regulatory mandates like HIPAA, Sarbanes-Oxley, GLBA, CISP and PCI.

“As a fast-growing company serving customers across the world it’s critical that our network, the backbone of business, remains protected against potentially devastating attacks,” said Stan Gaston, senior WAN administrator, MiTek Industries.

“Within minutes of deploying Cymtec Scout we were generating detailed, custom reports with effective remediation suggestions to ensure we’re secured against attack. Cymtec Scout’s top-notch performance made deploying the solution for our business a ‘no-brainer."
