Apptix to Offer Hosted Backup and Data Recovery

Looking to include online backup and data recovery in its products suite, Apptix has enhanced its suite of hosted services through a partnership with Decho Corporation, an EMC (News - Alert) company.

Over the years, online data backup and recovery has emerged as an important element for companies that are looking to have an additional backup facility to protect their data. During these times of recession, companies cannot afford to lose their data and hence, online data backup is a highly relevant option for them.

Via its partnership with Decho Corporation, Apptix (News - Alert) can now offer Mozy online backup service for its customers. Apptix's growing sales channel will make sure to offer this service immediately to its 200,000 hosted Exchange customers. Apptix claims that this data recovery solution protects the customers from losing their data in the event of hard drive failures, computer loss or theft, and natural disasters.

“This partnership with Decho enables Apptix to add a high-quality, best-of-breed online backup solution to our rapidly-expanding portfolio of hosted solutions for SMBs," said Rick Rumbarger, vice president of product, Apptix. "Mozy is affordable, easy to deploy, automated, and addresses the serious issue of data loss, which -- if left unaddressed -- could negatively impact a small business so significantly it would be unable to sustain its business.”

Designed specifically to protect small and medium-size businesses from hard drive failures, Apptix Online Backup by Mozy offers an easy, scalable, and secure hosted backup and data recovery solution. A company’s important data is seamlessly backed up as the service runs automatically in the background. Easy to install existing IT infrastructure, the solution is compatible with both laptop and desktop computers.

In July last year, the company made available a hosted Microsoft (News - Alert) Exchange 2007 services for the Apple iPhone 3G via ActiveSync. At the same time, the company also introduced its new hosted Exchange service, a fully-hosted offering that company operates for businesses on a monthly subscription basis.
