Radialpoint, a provider of managed Internet security and care services for Internet service providers, has announced its release of Radialpoint (News - Alert) Security Services 8.0 (RPS).

 

RPS is an all-in-one home PC security solution specially designed to aid Internet Service Providers (ISPs). It provides ISPs with a premium security offering for their subscribers such as  virus protection, spyware protection, firewall and fraud protection services, and additional services including Parental Controls, PC Optimizer, Pop-Up/Ad Blocker, Privacy Manager, and Back-up.

 

The latest upgrade also provides a behavior-based Malware detection and removal service called Proactive Protection and Wi-Fi Security for end-users connecting to wireless networks and hotspots.

 

Marty Algire, vice president of products at Radialpoint, said in a statement that Radialpoint Security Services 8.0 was designed with both the ISP and end-user in mind.

 

He said that the new solution will enable ISPs to create new revenue streams and also reduce the volume of inbound calls handled by their technical support departments by enabling them to provide subscribers with stronger overall security and a better end-user experience.

 

Additional features such as the Proactive Protection service will enable ISPs to provide subscribers with behavior-based protection and infection cleaning capabilities for their home PC.

 

In addition, virus and spyware protection services via RPS will protect the performance of the users’ computer by continuously searching for malware by monitoring suspicious activities on the computer and comparing them against a pool of nearly 300 behaviours. The service then uses its deep threat cleaning capabilities to remove any infection from the computer once identified.

 

Radialpoint recently received five West Coast Labs Checkmark Certifications for its Radialpoint Security Services (RPS). The certifications were awarded to all in-market versions of RPS 7 include Anti-Virus Desktop, Anti-Virus Disinfection, and Anti-Spyware Desktop, Anti-Trojan and the overriding Anti-Malware accreditation.
