Iverify, Broadcast International in Pact to Provide Communication with Information Security

By Rajani Baburajan, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Security solution provider Iverify announced a partnership with Broadcast International, for what the companies claim as “an initiative to deliver leading-edge security, comprehensive customer care and customized digital signage to business clients across the country.”

With this partnership, Iverify is able to offer next-generation digital audio and video monitoring to commercial and business premises to reduce internal theft, shoplifting and robbery.

Broadcast International (News - Alert) is a provider of high-speed video compression technologies. In this combined initiative, Broadcast International is offering the digital signage powered by its CodecSys video encoding software.

CodecSys system enables high-definition broadcasts and Internet streaming in low-bandwidth environments to deliver live security messages, as well as targeted pre-recorded commercial content, officials said.

“This strategic alliance will effectively change the paradigm of the in-store security experience,” said Kenny Kahn, chief strategic officer of Iverify, in a statement. “We are converging the power of Iverify’s state-of-the-art audio and video security monitoring solutions with the influence of Broadcast International’s rich media capabilities to better protect and communicate with people where they work and play.”

The combination of rich media and security is a natural fit, says Rod Tiede, CEO of Broadcast International. Tiede thinks that blending the security expertise of Iverify and the digital signage experience of Broadcast International will help better protect people and businesses.

Broadcast International (BI) recently announced  its new CA (News - Alert)-20 CodecSys Accelerator, which facilitates the implementation of cost-effective real-time professional broadcast quality HD encoding on standard multi-core processing platforms.

Officials said, the CA-20 off-loads many of the peripheral processing functions common to all video encoding applications, thus leaving the host processor free to perform the critical video encoding task.
