Team SightLogix, GigaBeam Provide Surveillance-Wireless Solution

By Vivek Naik, TMCnet Contributor

SightLogix has announced that it is collaborating with GigaBeam Corporation to provide a single application, which combines its surveillance solutions with GigaBeam’s (News - Alert) wireless communication technology, for prospective companies and government departments who need to protect large perimeters and outdoor areas.

"Our relationship with SightLogix is very exciting for us," said S. Jay Lawrence, CEO, GigaBeam. “It's absolutely a logical adaptation of our expanded product offering in a surveillance application utilizing revolutionary sensors such as theirs.”
"Wireless, automated video solutions that can be quickly deployed regardless of available infrastructure represents an invaluable tool for protecting critical infrastructure, key assets, or security personnel," said John Romanowich, President and CEO, SightLogix.
The company specializes in outdoor smart video surveillance and thermal sensory systems that can be either permanently positioned or quickly deployed and setup by field operatives to cover long range, wide balloon coverage angles for covert operations. The intrusion detection and movement tracking systems work in most weather conditions, and its video cameras, say company officials, incorporate edge-based video analytics for accurately detecting targets quickly and efficiently.
"Many surveillance applications are in remote locations and areas where infrastructure for setup and communications is difficult, time-consuming, and too costly to provide," said Romanowich.
GigaBeam’s wireless backhaul network solutions are adaptable and can handle high volume traffic up to multi gigabits per second are ideally suited to handle the rapid digital data signal streams from SightLogix’ surveillance units.
Official sources claim that the wireless intelligent video surveillance solution can be used for scene lockdown around emergency events, perimeter detection for Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) operations, sniper scenarios, visual scrutiny and alerts to safeguard mobile command units, and 24 x7 security around critical asset storage silos, local municipalities, universities, hospitals, banks, and prisons.
"The ability to build a total wireless network, leveraging the right communications tool for the job, will create the opportunity for expense and time savings as well as being non-invasive to the environment." said Lawrence.
Earlier SightLogix had delivered, reported TMCnet, long-range, wireless perimeter surveillance and scene monitoring Rapid Deployment Kit, along with product training and technical support to public safety agencies across the nation in contractual accordance with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) directives for the 2008 DHS Commercial Equipment Direct Assistance Program (CEDAP).
The companies will display their solutions at the US Army Force Protection Equipment Demonstration (FPED) VII event at the Stafford County Regional Airport in Stafford, Virginia.
The collaborative efforts between the two companies are in keeping with one of the seven mantras of the time, as reported by TMCnet, which dictates that organizations must make serious efforts to reach out and work with each. The seven guidelines for succeeding in current economic environment are collectively called the CES (News - Alert) 7 and were pronounced and initiated at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2009.
