Phihong, a provider of Power-over-Ethernet solutions, has reportedly developed a 21W Power-over-Ethernet splitter, the POE21-240 Series offering 24V at 0.875A to power a variety of security and IT applications including, security cameras, wireless network access points, IP telephones and IP print servers.
This Gigabit-compatible splitter, as stated, divides the power and data and converts the PoE source to a regulated DC power source.
"Phihong's (News - Alert) splitters lower the cost of deploying new devices," said Keith Hopwood, vice president of marketing for Phihong USA.
"Our splitter products, including the new POE21-240 which is designed to work with our POE36U-1AT single port midspan, allow powered devices to be installed into locations without requiring an electrical outlet and UPS local to the device," added Hopwood.
Available in a non-vented case with 10BASE-T, 100BASE-T, and 1000BASE-T data rates and a UNH IOL test report, the Power-over-Ethernet splitter is designed to be mounted adjacent to an Ethernet device, and is designed as per the specification in IEEE (News - Alert) 802.3af standards, a standard which describes safety transfer of electrical power along with data to remote devices in an Ethernet network.
This newly announced splitter features an LED to indicate power. The device also has full OCP (News - Alert) and OVP-protection and is isolated from the PoE source by 1500VAC. Moreover, it also meets UL LPS and SELV output requirements.
Phihong has been focusing in the power adapter market by providing power solutions in telecom, datacom, industrial and personal electronic markets. The company offers a broad line of cost competitive, highly reliable power and accessory solutions. The company is also recognized by the Environmental Protection Agency as an Innovation Design Eco Award Winner for commitment to designing environmentally friendly products.
