BreakingPoint has launched a Custom Strike Toolkit, which will enable users to write and simulate their own security strikes when testing network equipment and application servers. BreakingPoint accelerates the development and testing of high-performance content-aware network equipment with its application, performance and security testing tools.
According to the
National Institute of Standards and Technology's National Vulnerability Database, there are more than 38,000 known security vulnerabilities at present. This number is on the rise with thousands of additional unknown vulnerabilities being discovered and written each day. BreakingPoint provides network equipment manufacturers, service providers and application server vendors with a comprehensive vulnerability testing coverage. The Custom Strike Toolkit is available to BreakingPoint users as an upgrade to existing maintenance agreements.
The vulnerability testing coverage from BreakingPoint includes the Custom Strike Toolkit which provides the ability to write one’s own security strikes to run on its hardware in a very short period. The custom strikes included in network simulation tests can be blended with BreakingPoint's 4,200 plus critical security strikes and full Microsoft (

evasion techniques and advanced protocol fuzzing.
According to Dennis Cox (

However, companies now look for the ability to write their own strikes and application protocols for testing. The toolkits from BreakingPoint enable the customer to write custom strikes and application protocols. These, when combined with BreakingPoint’s coverage, will provide the customer with the most realistic network traffic generation available for testing. The ability to generate truly realistic network traffic while testing means validation of performance and reliability is quickly achieved and ultimately the ability to deliver better equipment to market faster.
BreakingPoint is a content-aware testing systems company whose solutions determine the breaking point of network products. This enables end customers to procure the best of breed, well-tested networking equipment. The test platform of BreakingPoint is powerful enough to deliver authentic composite business, recreational and malicious application traffic, resulting in truly accurate testing of DPI and content-aware devices.
