Mochila and AnchorFree Partner to Deliver News and Content to Hotspot Shield Users
By Shamila Janakiraman, TMCnet Contributor
Mochila and AnchorFree have reportedly entered into a partnership to deliver premium news and other content to over 7.5 million consumers worldwide who access AnchorFree Hotspot Shield each month for online security and privacy. Mochila is a premium content syndication technology platform and network.
With increase in Internet usage, consumers are accessing AnchorFree’s Hotspot Shield, a free ad-supported VPN (Virtual Private Network) that ensures complete privacy and security online. The agreement with Mochila entails it to give consumers secure access to premium, dynamically updated articles, photos and video via Mochila’s content syndication network.
The content will be grouped into various categories including technology, business, travel, food, automotive and weather. The content in the technology section will be provided by Mochila’s partner IDG whose brands includes PC World, Macworld and GamePro. Financial content will be from Investor’s Business Daily which will cater to the needs of personal and professional investors.
The different categories can be accessed easily and also advertisements from content providers with pre- and post-roll video advertising support will be featured said AnchorFree sources.
“Hotspot Shield now reaches a vast, global audience of tech savvy and affluent consumers who have an appetite for quality news and information from premium sources,” said Benjamin Chen, chairman and CEO, Mochila, in a release. “We are excited to partner with AnchorFree to enhance the Hotspot Shield users’ experience and in turn offer our content providers and advertisers extended reach to a targeted audience.”
AnchorFree helps consumers by providing a secure online experience and also acts as an effective communication channel for companies to reach Web users world wide. Hotspot Shield is available on desktop computers, laptops and iPhones and it provides security by encrypting entire Web sessions to protect IP addresses and users’ identity. Third-party Web sites and ISPs will not be able to block or interrupt Internet content and also can not track information exchange between individuals interacting online, explained company sources.
“Mochila has an exceptional ability to define, design and publish a custom content experience in a very short period of time. This means they can be responsive to our audience’s growing need for information, as well as our marketing partners’ need to be nimble, impactful and contextually relevant when the time is right,” said AnchorFree’s co-founder and CEO, David Gorodyansky.
Hotspot Shield users who depend on AnchorFree for complete online security will be able to access the Internet safely and also enjoy direct access to Mochila’s premium multimedia-driven content, he added.
