Enterasys Offers Trade-In Program for ConSentry Customers

Recently, when security vendor ConSentry closed its doors, many customers were left without a reliable service. Now, Enterasys, the network infrastructure and security division of Siemens Enterprise Communications (News - Alert) Group, has reportedly announced the availability of its "Peace of Mind" Trade-In Credit Program for customers of ConSentry.

With this program, ConSentry customers can receive a 100 percent trade-in credit toward the purchase of Enterasys (News - Alert) products. This is effective immediately through the end of the 2009 calendar year, Enterasys officials said. These solutions will help companies that have used ConSentry products in the past.

Founded in 2003, ConSentry was financially backed by some prominent Silicon Valley venture capitalists. A few of ConSentry’s former rivals had closed their doors previously, and others have been acquired by bigger players. This is mainly because Network Access Control, sometimes referred to as Network Admission Control, has failed to deliver on its hype and promise.

“The 'Peace of Mind' Trade-In Program is an easy way for ConSentry customers to keep everything they like about ConSentry products -- mature NAC, flow-based architecture, cost-effective pricing and a customer-first attitude -- while ensuring that their network, security and support provider will be around for the long haul," said Chris Crowell, Enterasys executive vice president and general manager of Enterasys, in a statement.

Enterasys enterprise LAN products deliver granular visibility and policy-based control and the company’s NAC Controller can be integrated into any network from any vendor. It can be deployed without reconfiguring the network edge infrastructure to provide unified access control for wired LAN, wireless LAN and VPN users. Without any extra charge, Enterasys NAC Controller provides guest access control and administration sponsorship.

Recently, SigmaQuest and Enterasys/Siemens (News - Alert) Enterprise Communications announced they inked a multiyear purchase agreement. As per the agreement, SigmaQuest’s OnDemand SigmaSure software will help Enterasys to manage and track the quality of its network switching, routing and security systems. Under the agreement, Enterasys will use SigmaQuest’s Manufacturing and Test Insight, Repair Insight and Return Material Authorization Insight modules as Software-as-a-Service and Cloud Computing.
