SRP will be gaining the capability to halve the time it spends on firewall operations by making use of Tufin’s SecureTrack for managing firewall changes and thereby cost-effectively and efficiently maintain highly available, redundant, secure access to the core systems fundamental to its success, company officials said.
Tufin has claimed that their SecureTrack is the most comprehensive solution available for managing and auditing firewalls. With support for all major firewall vendors, SecureTrack provides a cohesive, unified view of all of firewalls – along with many other security devices – on the network. It helps companies that consist of multiple rule bases, geographies and teams to implement a corporate secure policy.
SRP is a provider of power and water in the metro Phoenix area and as a utilities provider they have to ensure that any sort of change in their system does not disrupt their services and so they were not willing to buy any firewall solution. The provider claims that they recognized that SecureTrack could make their daily security operations work much easier and realized that working with a smaller, crisper rule base is less taxing on both the team and the firewalls themselves.
James Heyen, enterprise security architect of Salt River Project said that SecureTrack has been a smart investment for them and it is estimated that they have reduced the time they spent on firewall maintenance, reporting clean up and auditing by 50 to 60 percent. Its greater value is in the actual simplicity of using the product, and the ease at which it track changes – by use, by rule, and by policy.
SRP required a firewall management solution that would coordinate their firewall policy changes, streamline business processes, and shorten audit cycles and Tufin claims that their SecureTrack was the only solution that was able to meet these requirements. SRP was able to reap the benefits of their new firewall management solution within hours of deploying it.
Ruvi Kitov, CEO of Tufin Technologies has noted that they are delighted to add Salt River Project to their customer roster, and are impressed with how well they have leveraged what SecureTrack has to offer. Their customers acknowledge that one of the best feature about their solution is that they deliver hard, quantifiable ROI and also knowing that one of the “softer” benefits is that through their solutions audits are no longer painful, drawn out, stressful affairs is just as satisfying to them as it is to their customers.
