Procera's PacketLogic DPI System Deployed in Spain

R, the cable MSO and Internet service provider in Galicia, Spain, is using Procera Network's PacketLogic deep packet inspection, or “DPI,” system.

 

The installation was led by MediaTrunk, Procera's partner in Spain. The company also led the integration with operations and billing systems. Both partners together managed the evolving customer requirements by leveraging the technical architecture of PacketLogic that features flexible integration capabilities.

 

Julio Sánchez Agrelo, network manager at R, said that the company is benefiting from PacketLogic’s knowledge about online activities of their customers. This has allowed them to offer their subscribers a better and more adaptable Internet service.

 

After investigating all available DPI vendors thoroughly, R realized that Procera's PacketLogic provided everything they needed. Agrelo said their company can now confidently rely on the information they are getting from the system.

 

According to Jon Lindén, Procera Networks' (News - Alert) vice president of global marketing, customer requirements keep changing and this deployment indicates that they are well positioned to satisfy these evolving demands.

 

“DPI today provides critical information of traffic trends, emerging applications and what strains these changes put on the network,” Lindén said, adding that cable MSOs are in the forefront of defining new requirements as they have an urgent need for and experience using DPI.

 

“We currently have an exceptional win ratio in these deals which is satisfying since it's a significant portion of today's DPI market,” Lindén said.

 

Procera Networks Inc. delivers Evolved DPI solutions that give service providers awareness, control and protection of their applications and networks. The company recently announced the upcoming launch of their new PacketLogic firmware version 12.2.

 

The new release includes enhancements to PacketLogic’s reporting and analyzing functionality. Version 12.2 also features extended capabilities for quota management in large mobile networks with roaming subscribers.
