The HSM device comes in a tamper-resistant enclosure that can be attached directly to the appliance, server or general purpose computer. It provides both logical and physical protection of secure keys from non-authorized use and potential adversaries and can be used for managing digital keys, accelerating digital signings/second and for providing strong authentication to access critical keys for server applications.
According to the company, the new FIPS 140-2 module is an ideal solution for financial, government and healthcare vertical markets, meeting variety of requirements when integrated into a wide range of equipment including Remote Access Servers, Public Key Infrastructure, Database Servers, Web Servers, L4+ Switches, Load Balancers, Networking/Server Appliances and Unified Threat Management Appliances.
