Comporium Selects Red Condor Anti-Spam Technology

Comporium has selected Red Condor's anti-spam technology to protect its more than 95,000 residential and business customers from e-mail threats.
 
Officials with Red Condor said that Comporium will integrate the company’s fully managed Message Assurance Gateway (News - Alert) appliances into its network infrastructure, providing Comporium's e-mail customers with scalable anti-spam, anti-phishing and anti-virus protection.

 
"We needed a more effective filtering solution that could provide an excellent spam catch rate with almost zero false positives, and automatically keep up with e-mail threats so that we could dedicate resources to other tasks," Glenn McFadden, executive vice president and chief operating officer, Comporium, said in a statement.
 
McFadden said that the company also wanted a modular solution that would meet the needs of the growing customer base, as well as tackle all e-mail threats beyond spam, including phishing attacks, forged e-mails, bulk e-mail and image spam; all of the capabilities the company found in Red Condor."
 
He said that the company selected Red Condor because it appears to function ideally in an ISP environment, providing a high spam catch rate and addressing several layers of e-mail security at a very economical price.
 
“In other words, we get a great spam catch rate, a robust feature set and the most bang for our buck," said McFadden.
 
Comporium is a diversified communications company providing a Quintuple Play of five services - voice, video, data, wireless and security - at the retail level; as well as, providing security monitoring and directory publishing for its industry customers.
Red Condor officials said that the company’s technology also offers end-user spam management with a Personal Dashboard that lets mailbox owners refine their spam policies and review quarantined spam.
 
"We understand the unique challenges of service providers, and our anti-spam technology was built to help eliminate several of their biggest pain points," said Tom Steding, president and CEO of Red Condor.
 
 Steding said that with Red Condor, Comporium receives intelligent technology that stops all types of spam, viruses and phishing attacks at the gateway, shedding up to 80 percent of e-mail traffic through session defenses. 
“We will make it easy for Comporium to provide its subscribers with reliable, effective and accurate e-mail security without the ongoing tuning and maintenance required by its previous system," he said.
