Ensim (News - Alert) Corp, a provider of user provisioning and change management software, has announced Ensim Unify Audit Manager.

This newest offering is a tool created to simplify the Windows 2008 event logging process by auditing all critical changes to Active Directory domain services and group policy, according to company officials.

Ensim Unify Audit Manager was designed and engineered specifically for Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2 in order to provide security administrators and auditors with a location-independent, lightweight auditing solution.

Company officials said that Audit Manager is architected with a centralized collection store and a Web front-end designed specifically for environments using the next generation of Active Directory.

Ensim Unify Audit Manager provides a Web-based, graphical user interface to concisely report and analyze events, enabling administrators and audit team members to access a centralized audit management system. It eliminates the need to install client software.

Since the acquisition of NetPro by Quest, there has been an increasing need in the market to fill the price/performance gap and effectively track changes in Active Directory, said Scott Young (News - Alert), vice president of marketing and product management at Ensim.

Young said that Ensim Unify Audit Manager fills this gap by providing an “affordable solution that builds upon and improves the capabilities of Windows Server 2008 audit and event logging, making it easy to identify what changes were made and by whom.”

Some of the features of this newest solution are an enterprise-scalable architecture that can be deployed in small or large enterprises; an audit and search engine optimized for SQL; non-intrusive agents that work in conjunction with Windows Event Logs.

Additional key features are built-in report providing detailed user information for any critical changes made to Active Directory; and on-demand or scheduled reports providing tools for the security administrator or auditor.
