Certeon (News - Alert) a provider of virtualized WAN optimization and application acceleration solutions announced that igxglobal Inc., an integrator of security infrastructure solutions, is joining Certeon’s global partner program.

Company sources added that igxglobal will be a reseller of Certeon aCelera software solutions. According to the partnership igxglobal will offer Certeon’s enterprise and managed service provider customers, enhanced remote application performance besides reducing costs of delivering services.

igxglobal specializes in the provision of information technology services and solutions designed to improve the performance and security of its customers’ operations. igxglobal has delivered advanced IT solutions to customers like distributed enterprises which need an effective means of accessing data inside the enterprise and also from remote service providers. igxglobal services along with Certeon aCelera solutions will serve that purpose said Certeon sources.

In a release, Barry Johnson, president and CTO, igxglobal Inc. said, “Certeon’s aCelera virtual appliances are software only; they are easy to deploy and support the growing needs of igxglobal customers to offer secure, cost-effective remote application performance to their users.”

“Certeon’s aCelera enables us to provide our customers with remote application response time that matches local performance, a critical capability in today’s distributed enterprise,” Johnson added.

aCelera virtual appliances help enterprises and managed service providers to enhance the performance of applications which are accessed over the WAN. This enables improvement in application response time by up to 95 percent. Enterprises will be able to reduce their network bandwidth requirements by using aCelera’s network optimization capabilities. It also helps enterprises reduce capital as well as operating costs.

According to Certeon sources, its solutions are both hypervisor- and hardware-agnostic. aCelera software runs on industry-standard servers, workstations and desktops running VMware ESX/ESXi, Microsoft (News - Alert) Hyper-V or XEN hypervisors. aCelera can be run on existing virtualization implementations to leverage the hardware and software environments that already support and host virtualization.

It has been revealed that Certeon aCelera software can support up to 50 percent more accelerated connections than most other proprietary hardware appliances. This indicates that aCelera can support 50 percent more users, on an industry-standard server, than an equally configured proprietary hardware appliance. Customers will be able to lower their total cost of ownership by reducing the number or size of appliances being deployed in ways similar to that of proprietary hardware-based WAN acceleration solutions.
