Comcam Bags over $1.5M Installation and Maintenance Contract from Three Correctional Facilities

By Madhubanti Rudra, TMCnet Contributor

ComCam International Inc. is known in the industry for its suits of network video command-and-control products. The company also provides solutions and technical services and its client base spans across the public and private sectors.

The company caters to the U.S. government agencies, Fortune 500 companies, research facilities, OEM, systems integrators and dealers worldwide. The company’s specialized wireless IP, mobile, and wearable devices are ideal for remote use in inhospitable environments. Through a recent press release, the company has announced the winning of two important contracts exceeding one million dollar in amount.

In addition, the company has also announced the contract extension of one of their existing projects.

In the release, ComCam disclosed the total amounts of the contract to be more than $1.5M. The company further informed that the two new contracts are related to installing and maintaining command-and-control systems at three correctional facilities.

For a company, which has been experiencing backlog for 2010, the awarding of these two new contracts can significantly contribute to the company’s growth over the past year.

“These new awards for our systems division add to an existing backlog for 2010 with over $5M in new contracts awarded year-to-date, to put us in an excellent position for significant growth over last year,” ComCam CEO Don Gilbreath stated, acknowledged.

ComCam International takes pride in the fact that back in 1999, it brought to the market, world's first integrated Wifi camera and World's first cellular networked based IP camera and delivered with early versions of C3 (News - Alert) Command & Control Center software for PC's and follow on PocketC3 for early PDA's in the market circa 2000.

Currently, its video fusion platform adds next generation, real-time interactive command-and-control capabilities to legacy security systems for greater performance at lower cost. The platform seamlessly integrates a suite of analytics, including third-party security solutions - access control, biometrics, radio frequency identification (RFID), chemical detection and seismic detection. According to the company, all these prove to be valuable for improving real-time decision-making for critical events over any wireless network.

Interesting to note, before bagging the contracts for the correctional facilities, ComCam has won a contract for hospitality sector. Last month, the company announced through a press release that its technology is going to be used in franchising joint venture. The company announced the execution of an agreement with The School of Franchising in Kansas City, Kansas to offer a turnkey franchise management system as a monthly service to the restaurant industry.

Under the agreement, the franchisees are to deploy ComCam's patented video-based Enterprise Sensor Management (ESM) system to 3,000 franchise units by the end of 2011 and another 25,000 by the end of 2012. The company CEO said that the application was first designed for the military use. The adaptation of the technology to the needs of restaurant chains nationwide had opened up new revenue-making opportunities for the company.
