XOP Networks, a producer of value added service platforms and audio conference bridges, announced the launch of its Session Initiation Protocol (News
- Alert) (SIP)-based multi-application platform.
The new multi-application platform is designed to support voicemail with find-me, audio conferencing, enhanced firebar, switch announcements, mass notification, Web conferencing and video conferencing applications.
“We are very excited to introduce SIP based Universal Service Node platform. Several of our IOC customers deploy separate platforms for each application,” said Sudhir Gupta, CEO, XOP Networks, in a statement. “With our multi-application USN platform they will be able to deploy multiple applications on one platform, significantly reducing their CapEx and OpEx.”
Phone (News - Alert) companies and independent operating companies are migrating their telephony network from TDM architecture to SIP/VoIP based packet architecture. As TDM based central office switches are being replaced by SIP/VoIP based Soft-switches, existing value added services must be enhanced to keep customer satisfaction.
XOP Networks plays an important role here. The XOP Networks’ USN has compatibility with all major switch vendors including Genband/Nortel (News
- Alert), Metaswitch, Taqua, Ericsson and Huawei.
“Uniqueness of USN’s architecture allows us to expand number of VoIP ports and enable additional VAS applications – all through a remote software upgrade, a feat unheard of in the legacy TDM networks,” added Doug Jacobs, XOP Networks’ VP of Marketing and Sales.
XOP Networks' products allow customers to improve employee productivity, increase business efficiency and enhance emergency communications. Customers can seamlessly transition their value added services from legacy circuit switched networks to VoIP based packet switched networks. Recently, XOP Networks announced that its Universal Services Node platform with the Audio Conferencing Application has been installed and put into service by Direct Link Systems in Gaborone, Botswana.
