The upcoming ITEXPO West, scheduled to be held from September 13-15, 2011 in Austin, TX, at the Austin Convention Center, is expected to highlight the active role that the SIP Forum (News - Alert) has played in helping to accelerate the adoption of SIP communications in the global telecom industry.
At ITEXPO West, representatives of the SIP Forum will speak at several sessions, host special events with an aim to educate attendees about the challenges and opportunities for SIP.
“This year’s ITEXPO (News - Alert) West presents the SIP Forum with a valuable platform to educate the technology community about the critical path for global adoption of SIP and IP communications,” said Richard Shockey (News - Alert), SIP Forum chairman, in a press release.
He further added, “It is our role at the SIP Forum to lead this conversation and bring together disparate stakeholders from across the technology spectrum to do the technical work required to implement SIP in this next generation of applications and services.”
The SIP Forum will also participate in the three-day SIP trunking workshop and President and Managing Director Marc Robins (News - Alert) will begin the morning session on September 14 by presenting “The SIP Trunking Value Proposition.” He will provide an overview of SIP trunking and best practices associated with the new SIPconnect 1.1 interoperability specification.
This will be followed by a special event titled, “State of SIP and IP Communications, and the Role of the SIP Forum,” hosted by the SIP Forum. Attendees will be apprised of the progress made by the SIP Forum. Speakers will highlight the latest developments and advancements related to IP communications.
Not departing from its usual practice, the SIP forum will be once again be associated with the sponsoring of the ITEXPO and other collocated events that include 4GWE and the SIP Tutorial.
SIP Forum Director Dr. Alan Johnston (News - Alert) will lead a day-long session on Thursday, September 15 from 8:00 AM until 3:45 PM. He is expected to focus on various aspects of SIP technology that include SIP services and core standards
