From interoperability announcements to new products and partnerships, TMCnet was busy covering the SIP Trunking community this week.
Kicking off the week, TMCnet covered an interoperability announcement between Integra Telecom, a provider of business-grade networking, communications and cloud solutions, and Toshiba (News
- Alert) America Information Systems Inc., Telecommunication Systems Division. The companies announced the interoperability between Integra’s Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Trunking services and Toshiba’s family of Strata CIX IP business telephone systems.
Following this development, Integra’s SIP Trunking services have been made available at Authorized Toshiba Dealers.
“This new interoperability certification benefits users of Toshiba’s Strata CIX IP business telephone systems by allowing them to use Integra Telecom’s (News - Alert) robust products and services, including SIP Trunking,” said Eric Abing, senior product manager, Toshiba, in a statement.
On the security side of SIP, TMCnet reported that EtherSpeak, an IP communications provider, announced that it has developed a new secure and encrypted ShoreTel (News
- Alert) SIP Trunking solution that is capable of offering greater security and privacy for users.
EtherSpeak explained that the new SIP trunking solution makes use of ADTRAN (News
- Alert) NetVanta IP business gateways and helps one realize an unbroken normalized and secure pathway for ShoreTel SIP trunking for the end-users. The NetVanta is an enterprise-class networking equipment designed to lower costs in a users’ network without compromising performance or reliability. The gateway utilizes SIP for VoIP applications, providing interoperability with soft switches and feature servers.
Finally, TMCnet reported that Sabio has entered into a partnership with Gamma Telecom, one of the UK’s largest providers of IP telephony services.
As part of the pact, Sabio’s Network Services operation will integrate Gamma’s SIP trunking services with Avaya’s (News
- Alert) comprehensive IP telephony platforms to provide customers with an end-to-end approach to optimizing their telephony systems and services with SIP technology.
Officials with Gamma Telecom said that as a Sabio Network Services partner, the company will provide a comprehensive IP access and SIP trunking capability, enabling Sabio to offer customers a fully integrated enterprise telephony service backed by the highest levels of availability and service level guarantees.
