Metaswitch SIP Trunking Partner Certification Achieved by Edgewater


Mosaic Partner Certification has been achieved by Edgewater Networks (News - Alert). Interoperability with Metaswitch has been successfully demonstrated by the EdgeMarc Series of Enterprise Session Border Controllers for the same. An announcement in this regard has been made by Edgewater Networks.


The Metaswitch Forum 2011 will feature the EdgeMarc Series of products. The Metaswitch Forum will be held from October 3-6 at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Edgewater Networks will be at booth number 400.

In a release, David G. Norman, Chief Executive Officer of Edgewater Networks, said, "As one of the top providers of communications applications and infrastructure, Metaswitch has deep relationships with the carriers delivering hosted services to enterprises. Edgewater's EdgeMarc Enterprise Session Border Controllers are a strong addition to Metaswitch's solutions, providing the infrastructure support needed to connect, protect, optimize and monitor these IP-based communications."

Hosted services are able to reduce costs with the EdgeMarc suite of Enterprise Session Border Controllers. Call quality, security and the end-user experience for the hosted services are also improved. Business class VoIP services to the enterprise are therefore delivered. A comprehensive solution has been formed with EdgeConnect managed Ethernet switches, the EdgeView VoIP Support System and EdgeView Reports. This solution now includes the EdgeMarc Enterprise Session Border Controller.

Broad interoperability with the top providers of voice and video equipment in the industry is provided by the Edgewater Networks solution. A SIP trunking/PBX (News - Alert) certification lab with over 20 PBX models and state-of-the-art automation tools are included in the company's industry-wide Plug & Dial interoperability program.

Stefan Knight who is the VP of strategic alliances at Metaswitch Networks said, "Edgewater Networks is well known within the service provider community for providing a key infrastructure component for the successful delivery of Unified Communications (News - Alert) services, such as VoIP and video conferencing, SIP trunking and hosted PBX."

According to Knight, a needed role in Metaswitch’s solution is filled by Edgewater’s Enterprise Session Border Controllers and associated support tools. Service providers will be therefore able to overcome the complexity, interoperability and provisioning challenges for their services.
