This year’s not-to-miss international SIP Forum will be held from October 24-28, 2011 in Monte Carlo, Monaco. Haven’t registered yet? Good news, as the registration deadline has just been extended until October 14.

Hosted by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI (News - Alert)), any interested equipment vendor, developer, carrier or other company that deals with Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) integration is encouraged to attend this event.

A press release revealed that at this year’s SIPit (News - Alert) 29, companies will have the opportunity to test multiple SIP-based applications in different network architectures. In attention, the forum will be demonstrating how crucial IPv6 interoperability is to the industry as the next generation Internet protocol continues to be introduced to the market. Participating companies will have the option to test and review SIP-related video and telepresence applications as well.

"SIPit 29 will once again bring together the world’s foremost equipment vendors and service providers across the IP communications industry to test and validate their SIP implementations in a live, real-world IP network setting in Monte Carlo,” said Marc Robins, SIP Forum (News - Alert) president and managing director in a statement. "We expect that IPv6 interop testing will once again be a top agenda item along with SIP trunking and SIP security implementations, which collectively should help address some key technical issues in these critical areas.”

SIPits offers thought leaders that include SIP application developers, service providers and IP communications equipment manufacturers a neutral location to work together to determine if their SIP implementations will able to function properly, as well as if they are capable of being seamlessly integrated into an IP network testing environment.

“Over the course of 28 SIPit events, this program has grown and evolved to become one of the most effective and important SIP testbeds for both implementations and specifications in the world,” said Robert Sparks, chair of the SIP Forum’s Test Event Working Group. “We have consistently attracted participation from both past SIPit veterans and newcomers, as SIP continues to mature, and after every event participants indicate that a week spent at SIPit provides results that would have taken months to achieve with individual pair-wise testing.”

If your company is interested in attending the event, register now at http://www.etsi.org/plugtests/SIPIT29/registration.htm.
