TMCnet SIP Trunking Week in Review


Everyone who is a regular to this community knows it is a great time to be focused on SIP, and the prospects for growth are robust to say the least as the shift from TDM to and all IP world accelerates.

GENBAND was the subject of this week’s news on marketing and sales success with the announcement that Geneseo Telephone Company, an advanced communications services provider for the greater Geneseo, Ill. area, selected its  integrated network transformation solution — combining the GENBAND (News - Alert) C15 Compact Softswitch with S3 Session Border Controller (SBC) to provide a single source, end–to-end solution for IP switching, session border control and applications to enhance the service capabilities of Geneseo network

The Metaswitch Forum 2011 Expo was the venue for Carrier Management Systems, a leading developer of telecommunications network analysis management software (NAMS) to launch its newest software product NAMS Firefly CS.

Finally, get ready to pack your bags.  The not-to-miss international SIPit event, sponsored by the SIP Forum (News - Alert), will be held from October 24-28, 2011 in Monte Carlo, Monaco. And, if you have yet to register, the good news is the registration deadline has just been extended until October 14.

GENBAND had a busy week. As TMCnet Contributor Calvin Azuri reported, the company  announced the successful completion of the first IPv6 call between PacketCable 2.0 compatible SIP communications application server and IPv6 PC2.0 Embedded Digital Voice Adapter. The company completed the PC2.0 IPv6 call testing at a CableLabs (News - Alert) Interoperability Event held in Louisville, CO September 21, 2011.
