IPedge empowers SMB and enterprise users to communicate more effectively, be more cost effective, and have greater access to their customers, partners and each other.
"We are honored to have Toshiba's IPedge win a 2011 INTERNET TELEPHONY Excellence Award from INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine," said Brian Metherell (News - Alert), vice president and general manager of Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., Telecommunication Systems Division, in a release.
Officials said that IPedge goes beyond most competitors' IP solutions by delivering more applications on a single server, including expanded call processing and voice mail with unified messaging features, unified communications, centralized administration, and the ability for individual users to easily program their own telephones.
"Taking risks to advance IP Communications technology and provide real solutions has earned Toshiba recognition from the editors of INTERNET TELEPHONY and an INTERNET TELEPHONY Excellence Award.”
“Toshiba's IPedge business telephony system has excelled in delivering cutting-edge solutions. Its customers are extremely pleased and have offered their testaments of support," said Erik Linask (News - Alert), group editorial director of INTERNET TELEPHONY.
IPedge is also capable of accommodating multiple unified communication applications on a single Linux server, including call processing, voicemail and unified messaging, native SIP line and SIP trunk support, mobility, survivability, networking with other IPedge or Strata CIX systems, and feature-rich telephone endpoints.
In related news, Toshiba Corp. announced a plan to roll out a national technology makeover contest that will benefit U.S. nonprofit charity organizations with a grand prize donation valued at up to $100,000.
