Network operators from around the world will gather at the second annual SIP Network Operators Conference (SIPNOC US 2012), a two-day educational conference focusing on the challenges and opportunities related to the deployment of SIP-based carrier services globally.
The SIP Forum (News - Alert) announced this week that it will host SIPNOC US 2012 in Herndon, Va. at the Hyatt Dulles Hotel from June 25-27, 2012.
Building on the success of the inaugural event last spring which SIP Forum officials said attracted leading technical and operations personnel from the global carrier community, the non-commercial and technical content focuses on the real-world challenges operators face when deploying SIP services in global IP networks.
SIP Forum Chairman of the Board Richard Shockey (News
- Alert) said that as SIP network implementations continue to grow within and with the acceleration of global SIP internetworking across new geographies and network topologies come new technological, logistical and business challenges that need to be addressed.
“Prior to last year’s inaugural event, the network operator community had very few options for coming together to meet, discuss and share ideas and knowledge about SIP implementation issues in a non-commercial, technically-oriented setting,” Shockey said.
Marc Robins (News - Alert), president and managing director of the SIP Forum, said that SIPNOC is another aspect of SIP Forum’s event portfolio that demonstrates the group’s dedication to providing technical guidance and support of the SIP protocol across all audiences.
“Based on the success of last year’s event and the ensuing response from our membership and colleagues worldwide, we expect this event to continue and grow for some time,” Robins said. “We want to build on the positive momentum from last year’s event where were able to initiate discussions that are already having a tangible, positive impact on the global SIP networking community.”
SIP Forum officials said that further details about SIPNOC US 2012 will be released, including sign-up for early bird registration in mid-November at its conference website at www.sipnoc.org.
