It was a busy week in the SIP Trunking sector. Here are some of the major stories from TMCnet.

Network operators from around the world will gather at the second annual SIP Network Operators Conference (SIPNOC US 2012) on June 25-27, 2012, in Herndon, Va. It is a two-day educational conference focusing on the challenges and opportunities of deploying of SIP-based carrier services globally.

In another story, SoliCall – an Israel-based company specializing in software for noise reduction, echo cancellation and audio quality improvement – has added Sip Proxy architecture to its PBXMate in response to increased demand from the small-to- medium sized business market. SoliCall's (News - Alert) PBXMate lets call centers and organizations improve audio quality, reduce echo, cancel noise and maintain audio level at a comfortable levels.

In an additional story, readers were asked if they were aware of the productivity-boosting, cost-saving elements SIP trunking for enterprise Fax over IP (FoIP) can provide for their business? In fact, the SIP trunking market is expected to have a 68 percent compound annual growth rate (CAGR) through 2015. That means that over the next three years, companies will continue to see SIP trunking become an integrated solution in the enterprise more than ever.

Another story relates how Internet telephony service providers allow businesses with PBX (News - Alert) installed to use VoIP through the same Internet connection via session initiation protocol (SIP) trunking. SLICE 2100 helps to keep the infrastructure safe by providing custom-configurable SIP trunking, which is cheaper and faster than using standard phones. SIP trunking in the SLICE 2100 is also secure and scalable to fit the growth of a company.

And it was reported that the converged voice network is complex. It combines unified communications, VoIP and SIP trunking technologies from multiple vendors. To make matters worse, the mix in place today is likely to change in the near future. IT teams must make sure all moving parts within the system work together without breaking the budget, demanding a clear focus on voice management.

According to Network World (News - Alert), it is possible to reduce the complexity of these business-critical communications environments, while also managing operations economically with focused voice management.
