Frost & Sullivan Names XO for Leadership Award in VoIP Access, SIP Trunking Services


XO Communications (News - Alert), which specializes in VoIP and SIP trunking services, announced that Frost & Sullivan has given the company the 2011 North American Competitive Strategy Leadership Award for VoIP Access and SIP Trunking Services.


According to XO sources it is receiving the award for the second consecutive year in recognition of its strong growth in the market, significant market share, and broad portfolio of services offered.

In a release, Don MacNeil, chief marketing officer for XO Communications, said, “We are proud that Frost & Sullivan (News - Alert) has recognized us once again as the market leader for business VoIP and SIP trunking services.”

“The company has time and again demonstrated it can anticipate evolving market trends and tailor its services to address emerging business demands faster than a majority of its competitors,” Popova added.

Frost & Sullivan analysts said that the XO Enterprise SIP was “one of the most flexible SIP trunking solutions” available. It features the ability to allow large, multi-site businesses to aggregate trunks from multiple sites into one or several primary locations. It lets the dynamic sharing of voice trunk capacity across multiple sites also.

XO Enterprise Cloud Communications is considered a fully hosted IP-PBX (News - Alert), communications-as-a-service solution by the research firm. Many other providers offered a hosted offering and later re-directed their efforts into the VoIP access and trunking space. XO Communications revealed that businesses will migrate to next-generation technologies and cloud architectures gradually.

As cloud technologies and delivery models are getting more and more popular there will be a greater demand for XO Enterprise Cloud Communications solution, concluded Frost & Sullivan analysts.
