Interoute, an operator of Europe's largest cloud services platform, announced its partnership with SIPCOM, a service provider, to deliver Microsoft (News
- Alert) Lync Server 2010 to organizations across Europe.
European organizations will be able to connect employees in new ways, regardless of physical location as Interoute will be placing SIPCOM’s unified communication platform in its pan-European cloud.
“We’re excited to announce our partnership with Interoute,” said Daniel Allen CEO of SIPCOM, in a statement. “The reach of its pan-European hosting platform means that we can offer our communications packages to a wider audience than ever before and its expertise in SIP Trunking complements our Lync 2010 offering perfectly.”
The partnership enables Interoute to offer additional capabilities of the new Microsoft end user license agreement. As a result of License Mobility through Software Assurance, organizations can switch to a hosted cloud environment without additional costs.
“Microsoft continues to lead the charge in the huge opportunity that is hosted unified communications,” said Andrew Lund, EMEA Director, B2B Channels, Hosting and Partner Cloud, Microsoft.
Moreover, by turning to SIPCOM and Interoute for their unified communications requirements, organizations can move their global inbound and outbound VoIP communication to a single interface, without facing complexity of combining multiple software architectures, or embarking on expensive migration projects.
SIPCOM’s shared Interoute hosted environment is aimed at enabling organizations to buy Microsoft Lync on a per-user basis for increased business flexibility and improved return on investment.
“There is a real need to provide organizations with full unified communications services that help them meet changing business communication needs,” said Matthew Finnie, CTO of Interoute. “By partnering with SIPCOM, we’re making it easier than ever for organizations across Europe to improve their communications.”
In other news, Interoute has responded to the raised cyber threat level by placing security services in its pan-European cloud. With threat mitigation services built into the core of its network, organizations can turn to Interoute to secure their messaging systems, halt malicious content and distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks that are intent on disabling their websites or breaching their networks.
