Offering best-in-class elements for both integrated and distributed IMS environments, GENBAND (News - Alert) has announced GENiUS IMS.
GENiUS Integrated IMS empowers customers to quickly offer advanced IP communications services that significantly reduce total cost of ownership with network and operational simplicity, while offering the flexibility of a seamless transition to a fully distributed IMS architecture as an enhancement to the GENBAND GENiUS solution. Enabling a smooth network transformation path to a converged core, GENiUS Distributed IMS provides operators the flexibility to interwork into a deployed IMS core.
“GENBAND GENiUS IMS is a breakthrough approach that eliminates the complexity of deploying, integrating and managing separate IMS elements across operational systems,” said Charlie Vogt (News - Alert), president and CEO of GENBAND. “The GENiUS Integrated IMS solution is a game changer for service providers who don't want the complexity of deploying separate IMS elements and the burdens of integrating these separate elements into their operational systems and maintaining them on an on-going basis.”
Including the A2 Communications Application Server; C20 and C15 Access Gateway (News
- Alert) and Media Gateway Control Functions (AGCF, MGCF); the C3 Transcoding Media Resource Controller; the S3 Intelligent Session Border Controller (SBC); the G-Series media gateways; and P-Series Traffic and Policy Management solutions, the GENBAND GENiUS IMS solution integrates functionality from several key components of GENBAND's product portfolio.
By rapidly enabling the delivery of revenue-generating voice and multimedia applications, GENBAND's flexible approach enables mobile and fixed operators to monetize services.
In other news, GENBAND recently announced the introduction of the P Series P320 Traffic and Policy Management (TPM) platform, one of the industry's highest throughput TPM platforms, with 100 Gigabit Ethernet (GE) capabilities.
The P320 platform offers significantly enhanced speed and network intelligence capabilities, supporting unprecedented service provider scale of up to 10 million active subscribers and 120 million active flows with the ability to enforce services and collect billing information on every active flow in the system.
By enabling operators to more quickly seize the numerous opportunities offered by the latest in broadband applications and technology and introduce innovative service plans, GENBAND's P320 creates the ultimate policy control and enforcement platform.
