Try and go one day in the technology world and not hear the term SIP trunking; I double doggy dare you. The reason behind this trend taking off like a G5 is the multiple benefits it offers which include significantly reduced operating costs, improved productivity and efficiency, and a much better overall return on investment.

With the ability to be leveraged in virtually any business on the planet, there are some extremely important potential barriers that users should remain mindful of such as quality of service, security, firewall capabilities, NAT traversal, SIP interoperability and support for remote workers.

Some companies these days are still extremely hesitant to begin to implement SIP trunking and with the reasons mentioned above, it’s not that surprising as to why they are not moving forward with this next-generation offering. But, if these issues are clearly identified before this migration begins, it will make it much easier for users to smash down these roadblocks quicker in the near future.

Swedith-based Ingate designs, develops, manufactures, and markets data communications products that can leveraged to power trusted unified communications. In fact, the company is touted as designing the first Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)-capable firewalls and SIParators that allow for UC to be distributed over the Internet.

Recently, the company revealed it will be hosting a webinar on Wednesday, May 2, at 2 p.m. EDT that will analyze ways to successfully deploy enterprise SIP trunking. The not-to-miss event will provide attendees with invaluable information such as tools and best practice to remain mindful of to quickly overcome any obstacles that may come your way when initially getting this solution up and running.

Some other vital information that is scheduled to be discussed include what SIP trunks are, how seamlessly integrating voice and data can work as an competitive advantage for enterprises, and various migration strategies.
