Ingate Systems has expanded its product line, its free trial offer and its training options, the company told TMCnet this week at ITEXPO West in Austin, Texas.
New products include the Ingate Firewall 2970 and Ingate SIParator 97 enterprise session border controllers.
Martin Feuk, Ingate’s general manager, tells TMCnet that these products can support up to 8,000 calls. Ingate E-SBCs previously topped out at 3,000 calls.
While not everybody will need the kind of scalability the new products enable, Feuk says, Ingate had been asked for these larger solutions by a few of its big customers with the need to support call centers and higher capacity encryption.
The products were announced here at ITEXPO Austin, and will be generally available in November.
Ingate is also leveraging ITEXPO to promote a program it introduced a few weeks ago in the U.S. and a couple months ago in Europe. Through the program, organizations can try Ingate’s software-only E-SBC free for 30 days. The software can install on any PC, which Feuk says makes it easier for customers to try before they buy. A couple hundred customers have already taken a test drive of Ingate solutions via this new program, he adds.
On the training front, Ingate recently forged a partnership with The SIP School, which provides online video courses on SIP and VoIP along with industry-recognized certifications. As a result, The SIP School will offer Ingate-specific coursework; courses addressing Ingate solutions are available to customers and Ingate resellers as of this week.
According to The SIP School’s website, its main objects are to teach not only theory, but also to give students “a greater confidence so that as these protocols evolve, students are not afraid to work with new functionality.”
