The year 2012 saw a clear trend of enterprises migrating to session initiation protocol (SIP). Productivity and reduced costs can be the major reason for this migration. Ziggo (News - Alert) Business, a provider of media and communications services, is following suit.
The company announced its plans to launch a SIP trunking system very soon. With SIP trunking, ISDN lines will be replaced, but the company switchboard can stay.
Further details on this announcement have yet to be revealed.
Ziggo has been serving approximately 2.9 million households, 1.8 million broadband customers, 2.2 million customers of digital television and 1.5 million telephone subscribers, extending over a greater part of Netherlands.
Its products and services offering include telephony, data communication and electronic payment options.
Ziggo Business has also refreshed its Office Pro, its package for larger companies. An HFC connection will be provided with Office Basic and Office Plus. Office Pro will combine a fiber connection with ISDN 2 or ISDN 30.
Internet will come with download speeds of 10, 25 or 50 Mbps per workplace, and the price will also be reduced from EUR 304 per month.
Based on customer feedback, Ziggo Business decided to expand services with a 24/7 helpdesk, featuring more information on faults and a fixed point of information.
Ziggo recently initiated a trial for community Wi-Fi service with Alcatel-Lucent (News - Alert), which it claims to be the first great step toward extending its services to customers outside their homes in a simple, reliable and secure manner.
In related news, Jacada (News - Alert), a global provider of customer service technology designed to simplify the interaction between businesses and their customers, announced on November 2, 2012, it was chosen as the customer service enterprise software solution provider for Ziggo.
Jacada agreed to provide Ziggo with solutions to integrate and automate vital applications, enabling Ziggo customer service agents to easily navigate through customer data.
