Bandwidth.com Looks to Spread the Word about UC and SIP at Upcoming Event

By Rich Steeves
SIP Trunking Report Managing Editor

The folks at Bandwidth.com feel fortunate to have been on the cutting edge of the SIP communications revolution, and they are excited to help bring the space into the future. In order to help promote knowledge, innovation and collaboration in the SIP trunking space, Bandwidth.com is serving as a sponsor for the SIP Trunking-UC Seminar colocated with ITEXPO Miami 2013.

The communication services company was founded in 1999 and operates in the wholesale and consumer wireless spaces. Bandwidth.com works with major players in the space, including Google, Skype, Pinger and more. As Earl Wright, VP of SIP Trunking at the company, told me, Bandwidth.com powers the brands that people know. It has offered SIP trunking services to thousands of customers since 2006, and was one of the pioneers in the space, walking companies like Avaya, Mitel and more through SIP trunking deployments.

According to Wright, the Bandwidth.com has used Ingate products for several years, and the relationship between the two companies brought Bandwidth.com to the decision to become a platinum sponsor of the SIP Trunking-UC Seminar event. Wright stated that the company values the event because it fosters conversations that drive awareness, allow companies to share best practices, and helps advance the adoption of SIP trunking.

At the event, Wright will be participating in several sessions on the topics of UC and SIP trunking. He hopes to engage in conversations about the role of SIP trunking, and discuss the future of the space. He cited WebRTC as a hot topic, an emerging technology. He is fascinated by the embryonic nature of the thought leadership in the space and sees the genesis of something exciting down the road.

Wright believes the anyone in the UC space – OEMs, service providers, managed service providers or UC providers – would benefit from attending the event. Additionally, companies that are in the process of changing their business models to take advantage of UC (for example, a VAR evolving into a cloud-based model) would benefit from the wealth of knowledge, best practice discussions and idea about the future that can be found at the event.

When it comes down to it, Wright sees a great deal of value in co-creation. A creative approach can really unlock value for customers. He believes in seeing if unusual ideas are sensible and if they provide value for customers, then they make sense. Co-creation allows for the creation of something unique and powerful and advances the ball for everyone in the space. He is excited to share ideas like these with other at the ITEXPO event.

BANDWIDTH.COM is a PLATINUM sponsor of The Ingate SIP Trunking UC Seminar. Taking place Jan. 29- Feb 1, in Miami, Florida, the Ingate SIP Trunking-UC Seminar is a forum to learn about the SIP trunking space with industry experts, and to make connections with thought leaders.
