TMCnet SIP Trunking Week in Review

Welcome to another TMCnet week in review, recapping some of the highlights from the week just past in the SIP trunking sector.

Firs up, Gamma made its best-in-class SIP trunking services available with bundled billing, allowing unified communications resellers to leverage the expenditures of their customers. In other words, Gamma channel partners can use bundled billing to present a single bill.

"Bundled billing on SIP is particularly relevant within the UC market as vendors such as Microsoft (News - Alert) with their Lync product look to integrate enterprise voice in ever greater numbers," said Steve Ashley-Brian, Product Manager, SIP trunking at Gamma. "IT system integrators no longer want to leave money on the table and with this package they no longer have to."

Next, the SIP Forum extended the Call for Presentations for its third annual SIP Network Operators Conference (SIPNOC 2013). As such, interested parties were able to submit a presentation proposal on the SIP Forum (News - Alert) site up until February 28, with speaking opportunities including general session talks, general session panels, research topics and Birds of a Feather sessions.

In other news, SPIRIT DSP released the latest version of its VVoIP SDK, Engine Mobile 4.0, bringing voice and video over IP to RCS. Not only is Engine Mobile 4.0 able to deliver interactive mobile HD voice and video over RCS, it does so while being RCS 5.1 compliant.

Being able to deliver this functionality over RCS gives telecommunications providers another tool with which to fight the use of OTT apps, while boosting the value of LTE (News - Alert) networks.

Lastly, SIP trunking provider ANPI announced a new managed SIP trunking solution aimed at SMBs and enterprises. ANPI SIP Trunking also delivers unified communications and collaboration tools such as hosted PBX (News - Alert) and audio, Web and video conferencing.

The new offering is available to users with unlimited and metered long-distance options. Meanwhile, there are several low-priced packages available that include unlimited international calling to over 35 countries, enhanced DIDs with CNAM for inbound and outbound calling, and E911.

That's it for this week. Check out the SIP Trunking Channel for more news in this sector!
