There was a fair amount of activity this week in the SIP trunking space. Here’s a look at some of the top headlines.

First up, IPsmarx Technology introduced a new SIP trunking solution designed to provide a flexible, all-in-one platform for wholesale VoIP providers and IP-PBX (News - Alert) installers. The company reportedly created the solution to simplify billing and routing management, while reducing costs and increasing revenue potential. Meanwhile, IPSmarx offers a high degree of flexibility with this offering by enabling service providers to create multiple plans and packages.

Next, IntelePeer updated an existing product, its CoreCloud UC SIP Trunking system, with new and expanded options. To start with, the company boosted security with the inclusion of TLS and SRTP encryption to protect signaling and multimedia content, eliminating the need for an MPLS network. Another major new feature is the trunking redundancy option, which backs up SIP trunks with an automated provisioning process.

Meanwhile, Broadview Networks introduced a new plug-in for its cloud-based business phone system, OfficeSuite. Called CRM Connector, this new offering allows OfficeSuite to integrate with Salesforce.com (News - Alert) and any other TAPI-enabled CRM application. Specifically, CRM Connector is a way to integrate phone communications directly in the Salesforce environment with search-and-dial and incoming call pop-up functions, among others.

In other news, Ingate Systems updated its planned participation schedule for TMC’s ITEXPO. Specifically, company CEO Karl Stahl (News - Alert) and president Steven Johnson will take part in a few sessions during the event. The two will largely talk about the need for prioritizing IP communications traffic as bandwidth needs get tighter and new standard like WebRTC are adopted.

Lastly, Miami-based VoIP service provider Telx Telecom introduced new customized options meant to help business leverage and benefit from the latest telecommunications methods. This is offered through the company’s hosted VoIP PBX solution, which boasts unlimited extensions, call center, unlimited auto attendants, voicemail and eFax to e-mail, and much more.

That wraps up this week, but be sure to check out the SIP Trunking Report for more news in this space.
