Great Lakes Data Systems' WinCabe Integrated with ADTRAN AOE and Total Access 5000 Platforms

Great Lakes Data Systems, Inc. (GLDS), a provider of billing, subscriber management and provisioning systems, recently integrated its WinCable subscriber management and billing system with ADTRAN’s AOE Management System and the Total Access 5000 Multi-Service Access Platform.

The newly integrated offering is for broadband service providers and can be deployed to significantly bring down revenue loss and enhance customer satisfaction. GLDS claimed that it offers the most complete solution of its kind and allows operators to manage every aspect of customer interaction from the initial phone call from a prospective customer to sending a bill for services delivered.

WinCable is said to be more intuitive, offers greater operational control and is less restrictive than other systems available – all at a price up to 80 percent less than competing platforms. The solution’s Direct provisioning feature enables efficient triple play service delivery and removes the need for multiple disparate systems which in turn paves way for easy management of Fiber-To-The-Home (FTTH) network.

Kevin Morgan, director of marketing at ADTRAN, commented, “ADTRAN is very pleased to have integrated with the GLDS WinCable billing system. Automation is the key to operational efficiency and savings for our customers. ADTRAN developed AOE, or Advanced Operational Environment, with automation and ease of integration in mind. We look forward to exploring additional customer opportunities with GLDS.”

GLDS asserted that it provides small to medium-sized operators with Tier 1 functionality at much lower prices than its tier-one competitors. As a notable choice among FTTH providers, GLDS supposedly invests considerable resources to ensure that it provided its customers with efficient, costs effective ways of managing fiber-based service delivery.

In related news, SureWest selected ADTRAN Total Access 5000 for carrier Ethernet service delivery and GLDS teamed with Ignite Payments for integrated subscriber management and payment processing for broadband service providers.
