Thing5 Successfully Deploys VoiceCloud Solution, Replacing Hotel's Legacy Systems

Thing5 LLC successfully completed the deployment of its flagship VoiceCloud Solution at a prominent hotel located in the New York City Metropolitan Area. VoiceCloud Solution offered an economical solution to the hotel by revamping its complete communication infrastructure, eliminating the obsolete PBX, voicemail and call accounting systems. The move enabled the hotel to save huge costs on upgrading its legacy systems to get reliable functionality and call data.


In a statement, John Carey, chief operating officer at Thing5, said, “We are delighted to have yet another hotelier transition to our modern, cost-effective solution. As with all of our clients, this hotel will benefit financially and operationally. This latest installation is another testimony to our focus on the needs of hotel owners, operators and their guests.”

Thing5 has completed the initial phases of the deployment at its headquarters which included collection of data, programming the systems, stating and testing the solution before delivering the solution at the client location. The project included deploying latest administrative phones and customized IADs at the hotel. Thing5’s hosted solution ensures complete compatibility with analog phones and associated wiring works, thus allowing the hotel to retain analog phones in guest rooms in a move to contain costs.

Speaking of the move to choose Thing5, the hotel’s finance director said: “The decision to go with Thing5’s VoiceCloud offering was easy; the financials of purchasing a traditional system versus Thing5’s solution were better for us both immediately and long-term. The capital outlay was significantly lower and we’ve eliminated multiple contracts as well as future hardware and software expenses. The hotel’s monthly operating costs have decreased as a direct result of implementing Thing5’s solution. Our hotel is now positioned to add modern services such as guest smart phone integration. Our owners are very pleased with Thing5’s VoiceCloud solution as a value-added infrastructure improvement.”
