snom Hires New Chief Executive Officer

Industry expert Brian J. Kelley recently joined snom, a premier developer of IP desktop business phones, as its chief executive officer.

Kelley holds over thirty years of executive management experience with an established track record of value creation at both public and private companies. He had earlier managed snom’s business in the Americas.

Officials said that Kelley has the skills of managing the growth and building customer focused, innovation driven organizations that help offer profitable products to the enterprise and service provider markets.

In his new role as CEO, Kelley will help expand snom’s market presence and lead the company’s growth in all its core markets along with Michael Knieling (News - Alert), COO and Usman Tahir, CTO, in Europe, the Americas and Asia Pacific.

He will also build on snom’s strong foundation as a premier developer of standards-based IP phones and communications devices for the business market.

Kelley will join the snom Vorstand, the company’s Managing Board and will report directly to the company’s Supervisory Board.

“The worldwide VoIP and Unified Communications (News - Alert) markets are growing by double digits as businesses seek to reduce telecom costs and leverage the productivity enhancing features of these voice-driven IP communications services,” said Kelley, in a press statement. “snom has established a strong foothold in this highly competitive market and is well positioned to take advantage of these growing opportunities.”

Prior to Snom, Kelley was the chairman, CEO and president of Tii Network Technologies and president and CEO of Cognitronics Corp. (News - Alert) Earlier, he has also held senior management positions with TIE Communications, which is a major provider of enterprise telephony products.

In August, TMCnet reported that snom technology AG (News - Alert) was a Gold Sponsor of the ITEXPO West conference that took place at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas from August 27-29.
