Toshiba America Information Systems announces SIP Trunking I-VoIP Service

Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., Telecommunication Systems Division recently announced availability of Toshiba's SIP Trunking I-VoIP Service (SIP Trunking) that integrates with its on-premises IPedge and Strata CIX business telephone systems. The solution can now be availed by clients from Authorized Toshiba Dealers across 48 continental states. The customers can also benefit from various plans, including unlimited local and domestic long distance calling.


With Toshiba's SIP Trunking I-VoIP Service, customers can use a broadband access connection to carry voice calls between their Toshiba business phone system and the public switched telephone network (PSTN). For IPedge and Strata CIX systems, SIP trunks are configured with on-demand reserve capacity (call bursting) beyond the channels purchased. For instance, if an Internet ad campaign generates unexpected demand, calls will get through on this spare capacity.

The service boasts of DID Failover Forwarding feature that sends direct inward dial (DID) calls to a specified alternate number, such as a mobile phone. For each DID, a customer can set calls to forward all the time or only if the broadband connection is unavailable. Toshiba and its dealers provide bandwidth management capabilities to prioritize voice over data to ensure that voice traffic gets the network performance it needs for clear, two-way conversations. A customer needs no expensive hardware add-on purchases needed to accommodate additional users.

Meanwhile, Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., Telecommunication Systems Division recently launched its "Trade Up with Toshiba" program, which enables users of legacy Toshiba business telephone systems to trade up to newer Toshiba business telephone systems and take advantage of robust VoIP applications. Users of Toshiba's Strata DK, Strata CTX and Strata CIX systems can trade up to VIPedge cloud-based business telephone solution as well as Toshiba's IPedge and Strata CIX670 on-premises business telephone systems.
