Last year, business phone systems provider Fonality (News - Alert) said it was building momentum with a batch of new hires to support its growth. These hires included additions to the company’s marketing teams, the promotion of Raul Vera to the position of chief technology officer and, earlier in the year, the hiring of Rosemarie Savino as VP of product management.
With 2014 underway, however, it seems that competitive takeaways are the new key to building Fonality’s momentum. Before exploring this, though, let’s take a look at the numbers.
According to the company, it added 45,000 new seats to its user base in 2013, bringing it to around 270,000 users in 99 countries around the world. In other words, Fonality is experiencing a growth rate of over 25 percent in its subscriber base.
The company attributes this success largely to its strong suite of products. In particular, it has named its award-winning Heads Up Display offering as a factor. Heads Up Display features a unified dashboard interface and connects all users to all their communication tools — including phone, chat, e-mail, SMS, voicemail and call center functions — in one place.
“The message from our customers is clear: growing businesses need more than just a telephone,” said David Scult, CEO of Fonality, in a statement. “They need a unified, integrated tool that removes the friction encountered in everyday business communication. Fonality has some very exciting times ahead, and we look forward to continue providing the best solutions for growing businesses.”
Indeed, Fonality has pointed to several customer testimonies to underscore that advanced integration solutions like Heads Up Display critical to success in business communications. For example, Glade Seegmiller, owner of warehouse management software company CC Software, stated that his company’s previous provider offered a poor quality of service, which improved greatly after switching to Fonality. However, he focused on the convenience offered by Heads Up Display as Fonality’s true differentiator.
