VoIP continues its steady takeover of the business world, attracting companies with faster implementation and reduced costs for phone, video conferencing and other unified communications systems. While the market is still in an early growth stage, industry insiders anticipate a tipping point where VoIP overtakes traditional telecommunications systems, particularly for call center operations.

Recognizing its potential impact on this fast-growing industry, TMC (News - Alert) awarded Votacall with its CUSTOMER 2014 Product of the Year for the company’s Hosted VoIP System, a cloud-based IP phone system designed for call centers and related businesses.

Votacall is positioning itself to take advantage of the growth in VoIP by providing cloud communications, unified communications, video conferencing, mobility, hosted VoIP, cloud storage, data center, VoIP phones and VoIP hardware products and services to a wide range of customers, particular in the call center market.

Created in 2005, the company has attracted a lot of attention for its product line, including the 2013 INTERNET TELEPHONY Excellence Award for its Votacall Hosted PBX (News - Alert) and Votacall vANA products.

The Votacall Hosted VoIP solution, which won the CUSTOMER award, was developed to replace a company’s traditional phone system. Using an on-demand model, the system can be deployed in any location without the capacity constraints or capital expense associated with on-premise PBX hardware, according to the company.

The Votacall solution is built on the BroadSoft (News - Alert) Class 5 Service Provider switch located in geographically diverse Level 3 data centers. Because it requires no on-site hardware, the Votacall solution reportedly prevents problems related to power outages, inclement weather and carrier service disruptions.

The VoIP services marketplace is growing quickly as more businesses adopt the technology. Global VoIP revenues were estimated at $75.8 billion in 2013, according to market researcher Visiongain (News - Alert).

“Growth is being fueled by business services as SIP trunking and cloud unified communications continue to expand and find broader adoption with enterprises of all sizes,” said Diane Myers, principal analyst for VoIP, UC and IMS at Infonetics Research (News - Alert).

The 16th Annual Product of the Year Award winners are published in the January/February 2014 issue of CUSTOMER magazine, a publication dedicated to news, product information and strategies for communications that engage customers and potential customers.

"We at Votacall are honored to be named a recipient of the TMC Customer Product of the Year award for 2014,” said Andy DeAngelis, Votacall chief operating officer. “This award is special to our organization in that it represents leadership in the design, implementation and support of call center applications that enhance the customer experience.”
